We Can See the Finish Line on the Painting!

Paint edge trim on Soffits
Paint door frame around the exterior Laundry room door
Touch up paint everywhere
Paint MOST of the front steps
Build top front step
Added 2nd strap and blocking to Hot Water Heater
Nail up flashing on South side of house
Pick up Bruce's computer

We took a few hours off this morning and went out to breakfast, grocery shopping and out to Best Buy to pick up Bruce's computer from the Geek Squad.  Bruce's cell phone beeped at us at 2:45 this morning to have it's battery charged.  I couldn't get back to sleep because of sinus issues, so sat up in the recliner the rest of the night.  We were both tired this morning.

Once we got started on the house though, things moved right along.  I got a lot of touch up painting down.  Bruce did odds and ends, like securing the hot water heater and building the replacement for the top step of the front porch.

Not too much painting left.  Need to sand both set of back steps and then paint.  Need to buy some paint for the two back doors, so a trip to HD will be coming soon.  Always a good break.

Last night Bruce bought the flashing for the south side of the house.  Little 5 X 7 inch pieces that all have to be nailed up.  Once done, painted....another trip to HD.   Should take care of any potential leakage at that end of the house.

Left: This is the one old board and one new, dowed, glued and clamped together for the top step.  Right: Painted deck and stairs minus the top step.

Left:  Bruce nailing up the flashing. And what it looks like.  Right: It will be much better when it's painted dark brown like the rest of the trim.  He hasn't gotten to the highest peak yet; makes me nervous.
