Yesterday and Back in Walnut Creek Today

Clean up
Trip to Costco for Storage Racks
Baby sit Molly
Trip to Lowe's
Dinner at the Strouse's

Had a wonderful day yesterday.  Too busy to write. :)   We spent the morning cleaning up all the mess from scraping the hall ceiling.  Decided not to patch and sand and paint this trip.  Bruce did a lot of little fixes.  Replaced a broken drawer runner, put up some lights in the bedrooms, get the trash bins out, etc.  The whole trash bin thingy is going to get some used to.  They are totally different from what I'm used to in WC.  Keep putting the wrong stuff in the bins.  The green is trash (here is green waste), blue is recycle (here trash) and brown is green waste (recycle).  My little brain is too tired to remember.  I'm sure when we're down there permanently it will be different.

One of the best things about yesterday was that I got to watch Miss Molly for 3 hours while her parents went to see Batman.  YEA!  for me.  Bruce was there for about a half hour while we had lunch; then I had her all to myself.  And silly me, I forgot to take my camera!  But we had such a good time.  Played on the floor with her toys.  Sang, read books, giggled a lot and I got to feed her lunch.  It was a perfect afternoon.  She even went down for a nap with no fuss.

After our trip to Lowes we went back over to the kids and had absolutely the best hamburgers ever, made by Nick and some corn on the cob!  Followed by a game of hearts.   All my favorite things packed into one day.  Life is good!

Unfortunately, Bruce really hurt his back lifting the garage door (be glad when we get it replaced) so he had a lousy night's sleep.  But we still managed to be up and out of Ventura by 6am.   It's early to bed tonight.  Tomorrow we may be starting the trim painting on the house.  Not sure yet.

Here's our kitchen/work area.  What a mess!

No that's not a mummy's hand, but mine all covered with popcorn ceiling dust!

Here are all the doors from the closets and all the built-in shelving.  You can see the brown that that spray painted everything with, walls, fixtures, shelves, you name it!  Below is the master bath, we left the doors to the closet up, because I wouldn't have a "back" to my closet from the bedroom side if we took them down.  Bruce will eventually take them down and sheet rock the wall.  Then we'll have a place to put up towel racks!  YEA!  It's the small things that mean so much!
