Master Bed Room - the beginning

Electrical
LED recessed Lights
Tearing out Sheet Rock

Let's do an easy project like the Master Bed Room.  All we have to do is put in the recessed lights (which Bruce wired in when he did the TV room); build a wall in the back of Janna's closet...cause there are doors on both sides, and it would be nice to have a wall on the bathroom side.  Then paint and put up cove molding and baseboard.  Oh, and put in a new entrance door and door to the bathroom and closet doors.  Oh again, move the light switches for the bathroom actually into the bathroom.  Novel idea!

Sounds like a lot but it really isn't.  The lights went up with no problem.  THEN....Da Da Da DA!!!!!!!  There was a covered outlet in the closet.....hmmm.  And then there was a gaping hole when we removed the wood trim on my closet.  Poking it we hit soft termite eaten studs.

It was decided that all the sheet rock on the outside wall needs to come down.  We'll replace what ever studs need to be replaced.  Add insulation against the southwest sun.  Even move the single outlet that was behind the bed to one side and add a second.  Easy job when the sheet rock is gone.

THEN, DA DA DA DA!!!!!! Cutting the sheet rock out Bruce hit wire....running diagonally through the wall.  What the hey???

Bruce's new mantra is "It's not me, it's the house".   Cause we know he's good at this stuff, it's just the house that keeps through surprises at us (him).  So much for a fast and easy project.

Today is Alissa's birthday and we have Molly for the day. So it was time to put away the tools and go to the park. This evening we'll be going out to dinner to celebrate.

Last weekend we Alissa, Molly and I drove up to Walnut Creek for Jamie's baby shower.  I got to spend the day with my best friend Selma, while the girls went to the shower.  Can't thank the Nagle's enough for letting us stay at their house.  It was fun being there with Kori and Robin.  Sorry Karen and Jim were out of town and we couldn't visit with them too.  Here's a picture of Molly making friends to Karen's frog.
