Having lots of Molly time lately.  Nick is working and teaching/training so even on his days off he's gone from 8-6.  Plus being mandated for overtime.  He's on his 3rd day away today.  We're trying to give Alissa as much help as possible.  Hard work spending time with our girls, but we're sacrificing. :)   Can't get over how fast Miss Molly is growing.  She's adding new signing words to her language all the time.  A very smart cookie!

Balance Beam Practice
Reminds me when of when Alissa was born and we were trying to get into our house in Walnut Creek.  Bruce worked all day in Oakland, drove out to W.C. afterwards to fix or leave notes for the contractor of what was done wrong that day.  Came home exhausted to Berkeley everynight.  Alissa cried a lot those first few months, so I spent a lot of time sleeping on the couch with her on my chest so he could get some rest.  My parents were in Georgia at the time and Bruce's Mom wouldn't pick Alissa up until she was 6 months old. (She was a wonderful grandmother after Alissa was not an infant).  But that didn't help me out when I needed someone.  So I'm so happy we can be here for Alissa when Nick can't be.

We moved into the WC house when Alissa was 6 months old (April '78).  That summer we found out why there were so many problems getting the just the shell of the house done so we could move in.....a great crop of marijuana all around the house!

Closet Doors
But getting back to this house.  Today I put the second coat of paint on the baseboards, casings and window sills in the guest bedroom.  Got a coat on the back side of the closet doors.

Bathroom Painted
We ordered the cork flooring a week ago and Bruce picked it up Thursday.  Then turned around and took a box back.  It was crushed on the ends.  Made two trips the day before too when we bought the track for the sliding closet doors.  Found that it had been repackaged with the wrong side, no instructions and the roller parts missing.  The clerk who took it back didn't seem to care.  Next time we're in, we're going to check to see if it was restocked with out being fixed.

I'm hoping before the end of the month we'll have both rooms done and ready for guests.  Bruce has this sinking feeling that we'll get it done and none of you will come visit.  I know my BFF is planning a trip down.  Sure hope some of you will come too.

Not sure what we're working on next.  I think the water softener and whole house filter.  And then I'm hoping ceiling lights.  Still can't work in my sewing room after dark.  Oh, and a garage sale.  GOT to get rid of some of this stuff!!!  Antiques and all are going cheap.  Whatever doesn't sell this time will go to Goodwill.

Palm Springs
Oh, we did take 3 days and went to Palm Springs for our anniversary.  We postponed it for 2 days because of the weather and were so glad we did.  Got a great day of laying by the pool and swimming.  If you ever plan a trip make sure you're there on a Thursday night.  They close down the main drag for about 5 blocks and have a street faire.  Lots of interesting crafts and good food.   Our friends the Nagles told us about a great place to eat.  The Fisherman's Market.  It happened to be across the street from our motel.  It was so good we ate there both nights.

Hopefully, I have more progress to report the next time.  Happy Valentine's everyone!
