Had our first meeting with Ronni at The Kitchen Place on the 9th. She was so impressed with Bruce's layout in Excel. She suggested we reverse the refrigerator and stove (which is what I wanted to begin with - but Bruce thought it would be too hard to move the gas line). So we went home and stewed on it for a long time. Because there is a 6" difference between the two appliances it changed the cabinets too. Went back with second drawing on the 14th. Ronni said that she had showed everyone in the office Bruce's layout. They couldn't figure out how he did it in Excel. The man is an Excel Guru....that's how.
Was so worried about finding the right knobs and pulls but when she showed me the selection of "freebies" that come with the cabinets, I found the perfect ones. Can't believe my luck! Ronni will get the layout all computerized so we can actually see what the kitchen will look like.
On the way home we stopped at Vic's plumbing. I loved my sink(s) in Walnut Creek, where the disposal side was only 7" across which left a huge sink for pots and pans. The smallest one I can find now is 10 1/2". It's just like the one Alissa and Nick have.
Had to cancel our second meeting with Ronni due to a very nasty flu bug that first got to me and then Bruce. I started at 10pm Wed the 16th and he began the next night. Missed out on the cookie exchange with my quilt group. By Sunday we were both eating solid food again but had absolutely no energy to do anything.
Next meeting with Ronni we saw her renderings. So in love with this kitchen. Unfortunately, the cabinets are a lot more than we expected.

Before I got sick, Molly came over and we cut our sugar cookies and iced them. We had a great time.
Bruce bought a white board for his office so Molly could draw on it. This is a self portrait.
Christmas Eve for us came on the 23rd. The "kids" came over and we had Thai take out. Usually have crab on Christmas Eve but there's no crab this year. Had a nice evening. Just like we did for Alissa, Molly got to open one present... Christmas PJs.

Christmas Day the 24th we went over to the kids. Alissa made a yummy egg casserole and cinnamon rolls. We nibbled and opened gifts all morning long. Alissa made me an apron and it's so pretty I don't want to wear it and get it all stained! Bruce got a remote control car that both Molly and Kaya love.
On the actual Christmas day, Nick worked and the girls came and hung out. They spent the afternoon/evening at the station house.
Today Bruce did a test run on cutting and re-threading black pipe for the new gas lines. It did not go well. The cutter wouldn't cut and the threading didn't work either. Everything leaked. Poor guy isn't sleeping as is worrying about all this. He really hoped that if he did a test run before doing it up in the attic he'd finally be able to relax a bit. No such luck. Back to Home Depot or Lowe's tomorrow to try something different.
Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas.
