6th Trip - Walnut Creek & PIQF

Paint 3rd bedroom
Work on Floors
Clean Out Orinda
PIQF

Thank you everyone for the birthday wishes and cards.  I'm now the same age my father was when he passed away.  Strange feeling.  Today is the 30th anniversary of his death.  Hard to believe.

We celebrated Alissa's birthday also this month (8th).  I stubbed my toe on her ottoman that morning.  Turned out I broke it.  Really, really bad timing.

We drove up 101 and Bruce dropped me off at the Hyatt Regency in Santa Clara.  It's attached to the Convention Center where they hold the Pacific International Quilt Festival.  Bruce took me to the first one 23 years ago.  Little did he know then that our one day outing would turn into an annual vacation for me.  My friend Selma and I have been going together for 21 years.  We started with a one nighter and now stay 4 nights and 5 days.  To spend that much time around other people who enjoy your same passion is wonderful.  We sew, we learn, we laugh and we get very inspired.  I got addicted to making these little 3/8" hexies.  Just have to figure out what type of quilt I want to make them into.

Bruce worked on cleaning and polishing the hardwood floors in Walnut Creek.  Still have lots more to do....it's back breaking work.  He got the 3rd bedroom painted.  Also worked on weed eating the yard.

He also spent some time over at the Orinda house clearing out the what little we had left there. Had a couple of lamps on timers.  Signed the papers on Monday and escrow will close next week. So many memories from that house.  Wish I had some pictures on my computer other than these.  So many parties and holidays.  Prom pictures and pictures of when the boys were young.

There won't be any posts for awhile.   Not going to be putting the Walnut Creek house on the market until March so we have lots of time to finish up the work.  There really isn't much else to work on.  Plus we need to refocus down here for awhile.  Think our next project is the retaining wall between our house and the neighbor's on the right (up side).  Need to get the drainage fixed not that we've had much rain to worry too much about it.
