Tenting

Yesterday Bruce did all the prep work for the termite tenting today.   He took down a very old antenna and a dish from the roof top.  Along with a half dozen cable wires!   To get the cable into the master bedroom, they ran it though the bathroom cabinets!  Then he made a terrible discovery in the room that will be his office.  The Fanny Mae people had all the rooms painted because the previous people where heavy smokers.  We figured they used that "orange peel" texture to cover up cracks and imperfections.  Well, taking off one of the cable plates on the wall, he found flowered wall paper.  So they sprayed right over the wall paper!   He doesn't like this textured stuff anyway.  They had intercoms and security panels in the rooms, that have to come down...and trying to match that texture when patching holes will be hard.

So not only does the ceiling have to come down, we have to figure out how to get the texture off, plus the wall paper.  Wonder how many other rooms it's in?

Tenting begins today.   Not only do they use what ever pesticide, they also use tear gas!  They warn you to be careful the first time going into the house.  Good news, it won't be for 5 days after they are finished.

Looks like a clown house doesn't it?  But it will definitely be bug free!  Apparently, in Southern CA this is a very common thing.
